Look of the Day // Lady in Pink

Act cool, look cool, be cool. Til’ death do us part, think Pink!

Pink lady pledge

Rather than being 100% true to the style of the Pink Ladies of Grease, this is more of an inspiration and homage. The funny thing about this is I actually haven’t seen the movie in it’s entirety — just clips! However, the Pink Ladies have always stuck out to me and when I saw this outfit at Addams, I knew I had to do something related to it.

While Rizzo and the other ladies would be dressed in a stylish skirt, this outfit is much more casual but no less cool with the jeans that come out of the box. According to the rules of the Pink Ladies, however, I’m not entirely sure my cropped top and ripped jeans would be considered “appropriate attire” but… I would certainly claim that it fulfilled their rule of “cool.”

Yet for all their emphasis on cool, the Pink Ladies certainly had style. The very thing that made them cool when it came to their fashion was their flair with a touch of elegance. To that end, instead of the sneakers that came with the outfit, I decided to add a hint of class by pulling on a pair of Phedora heels I recently found. Don’t you just love the subtle animal print?

The jacket gives off a wonderful satin vibe reminiscent of the Pink Ladies that I love and, of course, it’s the epitome of cool — the very heart of their motto! Since the garment is an Addams product, it comes with a variety of color change options to truly fit your style of cool, too.

Lastly, nothing says cool like a pair of cats eye sunglasses, a retro neck scarf, and a bold touch of red lipstick that was fairly common in the era of Grease.
